Men ~ The Stronger Sex~

Today at lunch one of the guys with us was a Surgeon. We talked about pain thresholds.
He said putting people in order of who complains of pain more,
men complain more than any category. Next is "women who have never had children" and last came as a surprise...
he said "nurses" ranked number three.
What? He wasn't kidding.

Sitting on Suitcases Surprise

With first morning coffee in hand, I stepped over unpacked suitcases to answer the door.
To our surprise, it is workman here to refinish our wood floors on main level. WHAT?

We had told them we would return from our trip on that date
which translated to them as we wanted the work STARTED that day. I wondered why did didn't set a start date with me. To him, that was the start date.

SO~ from this we should remember we are living in this multi-culture world and be more specific, especially when planning such a major event. . English language has subtle differences that are understood by other English as a first language people and maybe not be others.

Let them in or send them away? Let them in~ why not?

The best part is that now the floors are totally beautiful and will season and harden until Monday when the house will be put back together. We walk gingerly in sock feet today on the main level and me, looking and thinking of totally changes in furniture placement.
One thing always leads to another. Right?

There comes a point in your life when you realize:

to your future.

Alas vacations over

Ford and I will be heading back home today after a beautiful week in the sun with Ken and Donette. We have had a wonderful time and I am looking forward to getting home and going through the picture and sharing some of our most special moments with all of my friends who read this blog. To paraphrase Bob Hope Ken and Donette, THANKS for the Memories and we are anxiously looking forward to our next vacation with you. Photos to be added to this posting from home puter ....do ck back.

Casino Royale

Finding Casino brought thoughts of James
Bond. We found what we think is perhaps the best Casino on the entire Island of
St Maarten, St Martin, however,
no Casino anywhere compares to the Las Vegas Strip!

We play and enjoy many and never spend or gain much no matter where in the world we are. Just fun to be involved in all the high energy which generates excitement. Needless to say, people watching is always the best.

Sailing in one of my passions~ Sailing on the edge is the most fun, however, we only hit the high winds off the Florida Keys.

Aboard the large Catamaran here, we glide under power through the bite, out into the sea. There, we raise
the sails and turn into the wind. The silence of gliding through the deep blue water seems to demand respect of silence.
We drink our Rum Punch and let the wind take away all thoughts as it embraces our being and rushes past~ fanning out our hair.

White buildings sitting atop cliffs there on the shore are caught by cameras. We replenish our rum drinks and drift in peace. All is well with the world.

June leads the way

On Saturday we had the most wonderful horseback ride through a French Nature Preserve which climaxed with a ride through the surf. It was one of the most pleasant horseback riding expieiriences I have ever had and would recommend it to anyone going to St. Maarten.
